Nintendo destroyed its relationships with third party developers during the N64 era, and did nothing to repair those relationships during the Gamecube era. The problem got worse.

Nigga, the Saturn managed to outsell the N64 in Japan. PS1/PS2 were kings worldwide because of their gigantic and varied libraries. Since the GC barely had any big 3rd party exclusives outside of RE4 it was pretty much a bing bing wahoo machine 4.0

Not even trolling here, installed Dolphin last year and tried to look for some Gamecube games, but I can barely do a top 10, and even then a few of those are better on Wii (metroid and pikmin)

In the end I do think the Wii fared a bit better. Online helped it a lot, especially with games like Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. We also finally got an actual Donkey Kong game and a Mario game that didn't revolve around the FLUDD. Less compilations but more new 2D games like Muramasa, Rayman Origins, Mega Man 9 and 10, Sonic 4, etc. as well as just having all around (slightly) more horsepower for big games like Monster Hunter Tri. Too bad the motion control still managed to ruin a few games

nintendos became secondary consoles starting with the n64 to present. they were only the kings in the nes/snes eras simply because there was no competition.

The PS2 hype started full-force roughly in Autumn of 1999, and most journalists would've owned one by March of 2000. In contrast, Gamecube didn't arrive until nearly 2002, so it was very late that generation with hardly any worthy launch titles.

Agreed, just so much more stuff on there, although waggle could 'ruin' a few games (dk returns) but I played that using dolphin on a normal controller and had the waggle mapped to a button.

Wii is the ultimate GameCube since you can play Wii and GC games on it due to hatdware support and Nintendo managed to make the best previous gen support on Wii itself. If only there was a proper HDMI port for it though, that's the only downside there is.

Some multiplats are also better on GC and I play GC games on Wii more than Wii games too, but I wouldn't buy GC itself of course, simply because with Wii the library is pretty huge and you lose nothing, especially if you hack it and play games with HDD. You can even add GC start up logo by copying bios file for each region. Not only that, Wii is cheap as fuck compared to GC which is the main reason I went with Wii instead of GC, people who sell GCs for prices equal to Wii and people who buy them are retards.

Wii U can also play GC games when hacked because of the Wii hardware inside. You can even save because Nintendont has memory card emulation (the games themselves are played natively though, no emulation)

Not him, and not saying the wii is necessarily a great console (the pitiful hardware and the good game to shovelware ratio made owning one pure suffering), but it was better. Games were on actual DVDs for once, more thirdparty support (Even if there was a huge shovelware problem) and it sold like fucking hot cakes.
