So I played Crash 2 and it is the only 1997 PS1 game that had analog support (Dual Analog, since Dualshock didn't come out until 1998). Every other '97 game was D-Pad only. Are there any other games like it from 1997 that had analog support?

fuck no. PS D-Pad is fucking awful. I couldn't even play 2D games like SOTN or Alundra with that shit. SNES had a much better D-Pad

D-pad (as rough as it feels) still works better in the 2D sections and a few very narrowly restricted 3D paths. But analog is nicer in general on 3D sections, especially when needing to make diagonal jumps.
