I hate this game so much it's unreal. The magic is simultaneously overpowered and underpowered. Damaging magic can be over-trained just by using it on one individual monster at a time, yet training support magic is unrealistic since you're taking at least twice as much time to progress the game when you could just use an attack. And then the default attack button is busted beyond comprehension. Once you get a mid tier weapon, or just use barehands, nothing in the game is challenging anymore. Fight some flans barehanded a few times and you're like a walking god in power.

ff2 is a dumpster fire. Sometimes people look back and say "well they tried" ff8 is a perfect example I think people have gone easier on it as time past because it tried so many things and lots flops but some held up or worked.

FF2 sure tried a lot but it's fucking rubbish. All around, I've played it a few times "fair" emulation cheese OG and remaster. It's all shit.

Sorry to say OP, it just sucks and isn't worth it.

You train the skills what you actually fucking use, like real life. You chunps think swinging a sword should somehow make you a better spellcaster?

The key words system was a nice addition to test your memorization. It introduces chocobos and is far more theatrical than the OG.

After you kill the emperor, he takes over both heaven and hell and you have to kill him again in both. II is onebof the better ones.

Hey, can someone break down why there's so much fuss about Pixel Remasters? I mean, sure, some fonts and sprites might not be top-notch, but you can easily jazz 'em up with mods like OP did. I just don't get all the hate.

I bought the switch version because I thought it'd be nice to have a "physical" copies of 1-10. Over the years I've played and replayed FFs on NES, SNES, PS1, PSP, and one on DS and I honestly think the pixel remaster might be the ugliest. The fact that they didn't include random other junk kinda sucks. I remember seeing the PS1 CG intros for the first time and thinking they were pretty awesome. Pixel Remasters feel like cheap mobile sellouts rather than a fun remaster or update. They add nothing and they're defintely worse than previous remakes. They honestly would have been better if they were straight ports of the original versions.
