I honestly like the game already.
Kong specific collectables was probably a bad idea though. Along with any level design that amounts to walk your guy to a specific spot, and hit a switch.

It should've been more like Crash Bandicoot where you just go from point A to point B like the DKC games instead of basically doing the same thing as Banjo. It's still a great game though

This is probably the worst thing about it, having to go through every level five times just to collect everything serves no real purpose other than making the game longer for no reason

Three characters instead of five, and make them more noticeably different in terms of normal game play- different movement speeds and jump heights, only one character has a gun or instrument, only one can swim underwater, etc. Only one type of normal banana that everyone can collect, but each character still has unique golden bananas. Remove most of the mini games. Make the boss battles more than just hit this switch five times.

The best thing about the game is the level design, the world's look great and are fun to explore. Everything about the characters and overall gameplay needs to be reworked though.

I'm replaying this game and it's worse than I remember. The character switching is so bad it sometimes feels like the developers are just fucking with you. Sometimes there will be a hallway with one color of bananas in it, and then you get to a door with a switch that needs to be opened with a different Kong. Sometimes there are rooms with an enemy that has a blueprint for one Kong, a switch for a second Kong, and a bananas for a third Kong. It feels like the developers did everything they could to stretch out the games length at the expense of the player. It's a shame because I actually really like the look and style of a lot of the levels. Overall it feels like this game is a poor prototype for the much improved Banjo Tooie.

banjo tooie will force you to go 5 levels back, just to get a new move to unlock a new jiggy
