I'm producing a TV show here in my country and the set is going to be a kid's room in the 90s. We're doing, like, wooden floor, cozy bedsheets with numbers, scottish pattern stuff all around, and of course we can't forget about vidya posters. What are some good ones I can get? I want it to look genuine so I'm going to actually chase down posters off ebay or something. I want them to be from actual retro era.

If it's a kid of an age where he likes girls, Tomb Raider is necessary. Every horny kid I knew had a Tomb Raider poster.

Man, that Megaman X poster is hideous. I'm kind of butthurt that that's how easy it used to be to be a professional artist for this kind of thing.

had this in my room 1999-2001. Didn't even properly frame it or anything just taped on the wall with some scotch tape.

Have him have the Nintendo Power calendars on his wall. You could even change the months as the show goes on.

Most of these no longer exist because they were cheap paper fold outs that naturally wore down and fell apart.
If you want one in good condition you're going to be paying out the ass for something that will fall apart anyways, just get reproductions on high quality paper.

I also had this one.

Depends if it's pre or post playstation, and the age of the kid.
If it's a teenager in the late 90s you should lean towards cool playstation games, Tekken, ridge racer, wipeout etc

here is the superior Mega Man X poster. depending on the time frame I'd also use the Nintendo Power Star Fox, Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter II, and Metroid II posters

look through old Nintendo Power magazines. They usually have at least one poster included

>> No.10107241

iirc most posters that came with magazines were A1 sized, so huge, and were high gloss finish cheap paper. I vividly remember having a DKC1 poster out of a mag but can't even find an image on google of it. The mags often came with posters so your best bet might be to pick up old editions of mags on eBay that come complete with any posters.

Based, and same. I spent untold hours committing the 150 to memory.

Oh and I don't know if this was just me but I used to cut the A4 full page ads out of mags for games too. Pretty sure this was a common thing.>>10107241

Play it loud gameboy
I don't know if you can actually acquire the poster nowadays though

>> No.10107845

Same, right down to the scotch tape.

>> No.10108095

instead of buying the posters you can just print them off archive.org. you'll have to print them on magazine type paper in the correct size though. that can be achieved by sending it to a printing service
just remember, most kids had a few posters, not their whole room covered in them like zoomies think
