Also, is it better (in your opinion) to name your character after yourself, or give them their real name? Link, in this case.

>> No.1010360

I like to keep at least one save file if I can, usually the one with the most progress. It just feels wrong to delete all their games.

I used to name my character after myself when I was a kid, but I stopped that a long time ago and usually just made something up. I did play... something recently where I named the character after myself, for old time's sake.

It is always right to give the character their proper name unless you're some sort of man child. In a game where you actually create your own character it makes sense to name them whatever you want, but to do so on an established character is just pissing on said character.

Buying used Pokemon games can be pretty fun.

I would transfer any unique pokemon I didn't have to whichever game I was playing.

So, in my Black 2 game, I have several boxes just filled with pokemon I've gotten from used pokemon games over the years.

I named him link in every zelda game played except for wind waker.
this character just feels more open ended, like he could be anybody, and wasn't really apart of links lineage, so i named him after my self. That made me identify with him more, it became more of a personal journey instead of an epic quest to fulfill a prophecy. this change also complemented the change in art styles.

When I was growing up, my brother and I would usually use our own names. Once I started buying my own games, I'd always go with Link and still do.

Seeing my name, or anything else in stead of Link just takes me out of the game. Muh immersion, etc.

If it was like Earthbound/Mother where you name the majority of the characters, then I'd just do whatever, but not in Zelda games.

I bought a copy of Golden Sun for GBA (Not retro, I know) which had all three save slots filled. It took me about 15 minutes to work up the nerve to delete someone else's game despite knowing fully that they'd never get it back. I suppose that conditioning you subject yourself to over the years of being careful with your saves is hard to break.

Besides that, I've only got a handful of games through ebay or other places, and they've always had their data wiped. I feel like if I were to sell my games for some weird reason, I would wipe them first just to truly remove them from my ownership. That data is almost a part of me, I feel like it should be mine or no one's.

I use Link on the Zelda games.
I use Zel for everything else. Three character names can go on scoreboards and such and that was the first three character name that pop into my head.

I would delete the save file if I need it or simply want it but until that time comes I just leave it. What is the harm of doing so?

Been thinking about Emulating OoT just for that Triforce rumor. I know it doesn't exist but how amazing would it be if I discover a new glitch or something just by goofing around? Hell people thought the Hyrule Loach didn't exist for a short while. It is all about the journey.

I don't think I've ever gotten a used game where the previous owner had completed it. Sometimes (like in FFL2) there'd be multiple slots stuck at a point late in the game, other times they'd barely get anywhere at all.
