I like the NES Ninja Gaiden games. Having the dexterity to make it through the game and its music reverberates in memories is just great. The cinematics are also very beautiful for the hardware.

I loved Ninja Gaiden but the final level legit just broke me. It probably took me 2 hours to get through the base game up to the final level, and I've since spent like 3 hours trying to do the level and I've yet to even beat the first phase of the boss. Even the "cheese strats" don't work. I'm extremely close to just using save states. Or just downloading the japanese ROM and replaying that one.

the japanese version of the NES NG1 isn't any different to my knowledge. 3 is the one with the easier japanese version. Europe is the region that got the different version of NG1, but it just made Ryu's jump higher and floatier for some reason.

It's a decent, but mostly average JRPG of the time. It did do a few notable things though. You can recruit party members by building trust with them. Inversely, if you make enemies with someone, they will remember you and seek revenge. Also, it's a KOEI title, so it has some quasi-historical elements in the story and a very basic tactical war mode.
