>think about a game for the first time in a while
>get excited to play it again after all this time
>get bored within a couple of hours and remember why you have never beaten it
What are some games you’ve had a similar experience with?

This exact game, but I forced myself to finish it the second time. Got the bare minimum amount of shines, then stopped.

I cant remember which games I've forgotten that I disliked. If I could recall those games, then the scenario you're describing would never happen.

I have this same relationship with every mainline Mario game. I pick them up, have a good few minutes of fun playing around with the awesome movement and then just...drop them.

I honestly could be bothered to finish San Andreas. Maybe because I played the hell out of 3 and VC. And with it being ported to just about everything now I still can't.

Pokemon.

-remember how much fun I had with one
-excited to replay it or play a new one to experience it
-get bored of the repetitive 1 on 1 battles

these games are a fucking slog, but I fucking enjoyed it once upon a time.
