Jesus christ the music in this game. Has to be the greatest soundtrack of all time by far, it gives Yoshi's Island, Final Fantasy VI, Ocarina of Time, EOSD and Symphony of the Night runs for their money

DKC 2 is generally the better game, but there's nothing as fun as the minecart levels. I used to just play them over and over again as a kid. The rollercoaster levels have annoying gimmicks.
That said, the level where the ghost chases you is iconic. That scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Such a great arrangement of tunes from the game. NGL hearing the opening title theme and Jib Jig performed by an orchestra gets me a little choked up. I've always liked the overworld theme in DKC2, there's an urgency and sense of dread to it that is missing from the first game, which generally has a more laid-back soundtrack.

Yeah, you can't beat DKC2's soundtrack. Hot Head Hop, Mining Melancholy, Stickerbush Symphony, Disco Train, and Forest Interlude are some of the greatest tracks ever written for a video game. The only two tracks in Donkey Kong Country 1 that are on their level are Aquatic Ambience and Fear Factory.

DKC2 is probably the best 2D platformer of all time. It's certainly the best on the SNES, anyway. I adored Yoshi's Island as a kid, but revisiting it now, it's a slow, tedious slog, as much as I hate that I feel this way about it.

For me, it's the Zinger Hive levels. Cool conceptually with awesome music, but man the gameplay of sticking to the floor/walls get's old fast. My least favorite.
