What do you consider to be the "Grand Finale" of every retro gaming device?
In other words: the last game released on each system that people actually CARE about (meaning no shovelware)
Here are my personal nominations for the systems I'm familiar with. I don't have anything for Atari or other systems of that era, so someone else can suggest games for those.

>NES: Mega Man 6 (1993)
>GameBoy: Wario Land II (1997)
>SNES: Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (1999) OR Starfox 2 (2017) depending on whether or not you count SF2's SNES Mini & NSO releases
>Nintendo 64: Conker's Bad Fur Day (2001)
>GameBoy Color: Shantae (2002)
>GameBoy Advance: Rhythm Tengoku (2006)
>Gamecube: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006)

>Master System: Sonic Chaos (1993)
>Genesis: Vectorman 2 (1996)
>Game Gear: Sonic Blast (1996)
>Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga (1998)
>Dreamcast: Puyo Puyo Fever (2004)

>PlayStation: Dragon Quest IV (2001)
>PlayStation 2: Persona 4 (2008)

>Xbox: Splinter Cell: Double Agent (2006)

Thoughts on this listing? Is there anything you'd swap out with a different game? What about systems I don't have much knowledge on like the Ataris?

Here's mine

>NES: Adventure Island IV (1994)
>Game Boy: Pokemon Gold and Silver* (2000)
>SNES: Rockman and Forte (1998)
>Nintendo 64: Animal Forest (2001)
>Genesis: Sonic 3D Blast (1996) or Sonic Classics (1997)

>(*Technically a GBC game, but playable on original Game Boy)

The rest I would probably keep the same for the most part.

so this is why /v/ermin sucking up persona 4 so hard. it came out way beyond ps3 release so most poorfags who could only stay on ps2 were really surprised at new release, and game had bigger sales because most people owned ps2 and bought the game

>*Technically a GBC game, but playable on original Game Boy
That means it's technically a GB game with GBC enhancements, so very much applicable.

you can HATE fifa whatever you want, but it is a major release ALWAYS.

so every FIFA will be the "grand finale" for a lot of consoles.

NES - Zoda's Revenge: Startropics 2
SNES - Kirby's Dreamland 3
Genesis - Vectorman 2
PS1 - Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
N64 - WWF No Mercy
GBC - Dragon Warrior Monsters 2
Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure 2

No it's not. It's programmed as a GBC game first and foremost with a "monochrome mode" for old models.

Sonic Classics is just a rerelease of older games, I'd say it doesn't qualify.

FIFA is pretty popular in USA actually, just not as big as Madden or 2K

>> No.10054364

>>10053408
It’s the same reason we don’t count madden or any iterative sports franchise, got nothing to do with popularity - we know they are popular. They are not original in general and I would say shouldn’t really be considered in this discussion, unless there was just some breakout change that pulled in more than the expected demographic.

You know there were more differences between the two systems other than the colors, right?
