Mega Man games, at least early on kinda had it.
MM2 in particular you needed to stay on the top block while fighting the Dragon.
Classicvania also has it, with Dracula X being the most infamous case.

I think Castlevania is like this, right?Anyway, I just wanted to say that the character in Castlevania falls too fast, it's like the gravity acceleration is not 9.81 m/s2 but rather closer to 50.

Simon in Castlevania feels like a brick when jumping or falling, that always irritated me too. But I guess jumps aren't a priority in that game
