It would've been interesting. I think N64 could've handled it save for the music which would have to be slightly different. Street Fighter EX2 Plus would've been interesting to see on there as well, but I guess Capcom wanted to stick with mostly SEGA and Sony for their console games during that time period.

We've had this discussion about X-men VS Street Fighter and the conclusion was that the N64 could run with some caveats involved.
MVC2 is just an automatic no-go.
There's simply not room on the cart for all the characters.

Pretty sure CVS2 on Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube all use the same sound compression technology called ADX. It should sound identical on all platforms, and MVC2 would be the same.

Dunno about GC sound but Naomi and Dreamcast MvsC2 has noticeable worse sound quality than CPS2 fighting games. Voice samples specifically.

I'd imagine it was a memory limitation thing on the Naomi, which then carried over to the DC because it was basically just the same game. Even in later CPS2 games they started storing voice clips in lower sample rates to fit more of them in.
