Anyone know the best/weirdest mods for this game other than Malkavian? Bonus points if the mod lets you stay with UNATCO

Biomod/Nanomod/Shifter. GMDX if you want a hardcore, if unfair and slightly unbalanced, experience. I personally hated it but some people swear by it.

For visual upgrades, you might want to get New Vision. Ignore HDTP, it only has like three models and they will look jarring compared to old models right next to them.

Instead, I recommend focusing on story mods with original campaigns. Nameless Mod, Zodiac, Ex Nihilum. Revision is fine if you treat it for what it is - a fan mod.

Look, I know people like GMDX but when I tried playing it, all it did was make AI hyperaware on Realistic and made stealth unviable (and I hate playing below Realistic). So my playthrough was basically limping as perpetually wounded JC from medbot to medbot (because medkits are scarce), shooting my way through terrorists with ambush pistol headshots (only possible because of laser sight exploit). It was sort of fun, but I can't say I would call it "balanced".

This was couple years ago and the mod was apparently updated since, but I'm not installing it again, I'm burned on it.

If you're looking for serious total conversions, check out 2027 and Nihilum. Especially 2027, it is awesome. If you're looking for something less serious, Redsun 2020 and The Nameless Mod are great, but Redsun is funnier.
