Do you keep a kino notebook for documenting hints and passwords and maps or do you look everything up on the internet like a filthy degenerate?

>> No.9998251

I've recently bought two notebooks. One for map making and the other for tricks or tips or passwords for any retro game I'm playing. But they're just things I learn while playing. It's pretty fun. Helps too because sometimes I'll put down games and when I come back I forget my strats.

>>9998254
I used to do that but I always lost track of the photos.

I did when I was a kid.
I started out writing down passwords as I got them.
Then I'd print out pages from the library and glue them into the notebook.
Eventually we got internet at home so I didn't need the book anymore.
Now if I play a game with passwords I just take a picture with my phone.

Writing my own book for NES/Famicom games as I play them so future me won't get stuck.

Making it in official tone, with illustrations, game ratings, and advices to "player" from "editorial staff" because I like it that way

I have a notebook where i write my current objectives in games (in case i take a break), places to backtrack, and puzzle solutions. Very useful for King's Field currently.

Not every game has codes or some valuable info to write down, and i'm limited by 96 pages anyway.

Yeah, this shit is cringe. No one I knew ever wrote things down in notebooks or drew maps on graph paper, at most we'd write down passwords in the backs of manuals or on random scraps of paper. My blood boils every time that someone says the "correct" way to play Zelda or Metroid on NES is to draw fucking maps for them, it's a clear sign of an underaged fag trying to fit in.

I had one up to 1999, I think. Had no internet before then. I recall I joted down all the Ultimates and codes for Killer Instinct (SNES) on mine.
Because of no internet, I had to discover those by hand. It's weird that you can even discover the codes for the 2 special stages (Spinal's Lair and Sky Stage) just by pushing buttons at specific times. I guess I had too much time on my hands back then.

>> No.10003223

When playing Resident Evil I was keeping notes on loose paper on my desk with locations of herbs or extra ammo that I couldn't pick up so I could revisit later/when I needed it.
When playing Myst I was doing the same, writing down symbols I needed to remember or notes of where to go/what we found etc. The worst was the the fucking maze that I tried to map out.
It's fun, and in some ways feels more immersive than typing it or whatever. Feels like I would ahve been doing back in the day when I needed to take notes, and is less intrusive. Never really thought about keeping them long term in a book, but it's not a bad idea if I get a cheap notebook. The scribblings looked like a mad-man's notes by the end.
