How is Harvest Moon SNES and N64. For retro HM, I've beaten FoMT, and watched the festivals and scenes that were removed from it in BtN.

I enjoy both of them despite (or maybe because of) their simplicity. With SNES I think my only particular complaint is that if you have too many animals in the barn the game slows down pretty heavily and makes it take needlessly long to take care of business.

64 is a pretty good sequel and has most of the same characters as BtN/FoMT but in kind of an alternate universe situation with characters having different roles and relationships (which arguably make more sense).

SNES one is a lot of fun in that way that it's a long-running series and its first game has a lot of stuff that's weird vs. the larger series. I find it gets brutally repetitive but play it. Wonderful sprite-work at least. And it has an actual ending.
N64 is great. No notes.
Check out HM2 and 3 on the GBC if you want some really great games as well. 3 in particular is one of the more odd games in the series.

Maybe. Nursing didn't require accreditation over most of its history though. No idea when HM is supposed to take place, and whether their world has it. It seems like the game takes place in a world before the widespread creation of accreditation requirements though.

I wish there was more of a romhacking community for HM games the way there is for shit like Pokemon and Fire Emblem. I'd love to see a hack where Lillia is romanceable, but last I checked, no one's figured out how to edit events in FoMT yet. Guess that's just to be expected for a niche series.

Given how Harvest Moon work, timed events, I think romhacking it would be an insane amount of work. I know Stardew Valley has a decent modding scene and that people have been trying to mode the recent SoS releases on PC but with little success.
