bros, what are the best vr fighters to play the single player on. Doesn't necessarily have to be a big sweeping story, but one where the single player is, in some capacity, rewarding to complete. I have the Soul Caliber games with their mission crawler type mode listed already.

For pure content and unlockables I would think Alpha 3, just the sheer amount of volume and game modes, like the insane fighting multiple opponents at once.

nowadays i prefer playing fatal fury than street fighter. the gameplay is more original, the art is beautiful and the fights tend to look better. they also have a lot of charm.
FF3 and Real Bout 1 are my favorite.
SF2 and Alpha 2 are unbeatable music wise though.

Fatal Fury 3 really feels like the peak of that classic SNK style. There's something endearing about what 90's Japan thinks Florida is like. The backgrounds, music, art, segues between matches, just oozes style.
I feel like in the late 90s and beyond they lost all that.

Including romhacks? The hacked version of SF Alpha 2 that fixes the broken load times and slowdowns, bar none. Alpha 2 is easily one of the best Street Fighter games ever made, but the SNES port was a disaster purely due to an oversight in coding during the porting process that got fixed like 2 years back. You don't NEED the additional hack that also adds in the original Alpha 2 music but it's a nice addon.

Original versions only? I don't know, SF2T (Super is too damn slow)?

also if you compare FF3 to SF Alpha 1 (released around the same time), FF3 looks far better. maybe SNK could have taken the lead with a simpler, more intuitive gameplay.
