Anyone ever figure out what this means?

>> No.9941503

Yeah I figured it out as a kid. Didn't know people were confused by this until years later.

There's no such thing as "rumors" in retro games. Everything has been decompiled. Everything is known.

>> No.9941724

>>9941685
Nope that is completely false. Decompiling games is a tedious procedure and reading the asm afterwards is even more tedious. Shut your zoomerbrain up, know nothing retard. Like 1% of games have been decompiled and only a handful of those decompiled games actually get people sparsing the code, which takes months possibly years depending on how but the disassembly went. Why can’t you fucking retards just keep your mouth shut? Ohh yeah, it’s because you think you know everything when you actually know nothing, Dunning- Kruger dunce

>Decompiling games is a tedious procedure
Stopped reading here. Don't talk about things you're completely ignorant of, anon. Just because you're too dumb to understand how a disassembler works doesn't mean the rest of us are.

This isn't accurate, if there were secrets in these games, they would already be learned about. Look at the fiasco behind Mario 64.

>> No.9941953

>>9941943
Mostly true but not strictly true. I think playable Akuma in SNES Street Fighter Alpha 2 was only recently discovered, for example. Every so often a random thing will come out. Ed Boon still says that not every Mortal Kombat secret has been discovered though he's a known troll. That said SOTN is not one of those games.

>> No.9941968

My friend said that if you use it at just the right time you can catch a peek at Maria bathing. He said he took a picture but he lost it, so he couldn't show it to me.

>> No.9941992

>>9941726
Mario 64 and OoT are some of the most popular retro games out there and their filesizes are miniscule thanks to the N64 being stuck in the past. And it still took years for their decompilations to complete so that we got native PC ports.

1. It's an observation deck - that's the in-universe explanation.
2. It can show one of two things. I think it can show like a bird or a fish or something in an empty lake. Then the other the ferryman.
3. Just an allusion to the ferryman that he exists. Nothing more.

coconuts are green until they're ripe then they turn a yellowish beige color
the ones you've seen in the supermarket had the outside peeled off, which reveals the white middle part that dries brown. Then inside of that is the coconut meat that's white.

you need to go into the final dungeon up to the first plot cutscene, then walk back out and talk to some person in a town, go back into the final dungeon to the next cutscene and walk back out, like 10 freaking times and you get a worthless at that point accessory for your trouble
it was apparently in the big super FF9 guide released in japan but never got talked about much so it didn't filter through to the rest of the jrpg community until a lot later

man I gotta go find a guide. I swear I've traversed the whole thing for a couple hours, but I can't find how to turn into a bat and talk to this succubus or whatever? I've done Maria, Librarian, Ferryman, a handful of bosses, and I got the double jump, but I'm not seeing any new paths and the minor bosses didn't unlock any skills. sorry I know this is super vague, but any tips would be super appreciated!

>> No.9945693

The succubus is near the bottom right hand corner of the map, in the underground caverns iirc. There's a large vertical drop, you have to turn into a bat instead of falling down. She is in a purple coffin save room
