Autism. Speedrunning is an autistic activity, "gender warriors" have autism. It's a big crossover. It's kind of weird, but I think for many autistic troons, the transition is just a way to advertise their dysfunction and lower everyone's expectations of them, or get them to leave them the fuck alone to pursue their autistic hobbies. It's functions socially the same way a wheelchair or an arm cast would. Their parents and family want them to pursue grown up man stuff (for everyone's good), but their brains just want to speed run mega man and watch anime all day. So they buy a bunch of girl clothes and put up a troon flag to signal to everyone "Hey, I am not a functional grown up male, stop expecting me to be one and treating me like one".

Basically its a short cut to avoid the trauma of being an adult with autism and having to explain themselves a dozen times a day. Still though, it would be better for them to not do that, and just get through it like everyone else does.
