man i forgot i was playing 3, just gave up on it, felt so fucking boring lol

3 was my first handheld game ever so perhaps because of that I love it. Only played 4 for the first time last year, could see the appeal but 3 had a much better aesthetic and the mild exploration/wariovania aspects give it the edge.

It is only worse because you are stripped of his abilities which is actually absurd considering he's not in a armored suit like he's Samus and also the levels and design of the game is just paced in an awful way. Had just these two things been improved the game would easily be best of the series.

Not liking the game so far. Why is it so popular?

>Got rid of the obnoxious minigame before each chest
>got rid of unrewarding exploration reward of breaking a ton of hidden blocks just to be rewarded for fucking coins (that are then used to fund said obnoxious minigame)
>actually bothers to progress Wario's current moveset with his current objective, making each trip to a level/chest more unique and levels feeling less of a blend of sameness, compared to WL2 where you are doing pretty much the same thing from start to finish
>EVERY reward either gives you a new power up that let's you explore multiple new areas or changes the world map, making them the most rewarding they've ever been in

This game funny enough fixed most of my problems with Wario Land II. It's only biggest blunder is the Golf minigame and not having multiple endings.

I love WL 1 and 2 as a kid. I replayed WL2 recently on virtual console and...I don't know but something seems off. I found It somehow unsettling and eerie. It's a game with a strange atmosphere

Save for the "true" final level of course, which is bizarre even for Wario. The idea that Syrup owned a flesh cave to store her treasure is amusing. Also creepy considering you see her minions stuck in the walls.

I hate Wario Land 3, because when I played it on the vba emulator there was a glitch that stopped my progress halfway through the game. Couldn’t climb up the vines in a level. Soured my entire experience.

It's a known emulation bug I personally think it was an intentional anti=piracy ymeasure but that's unconfirmed. It takes like a second of google searching to find a workaround for it

I really need to sit down and give 3 a proper go. I love 1, 2 and 4.
I've started 3 multiple times throughout the years but never get past the first couple of stages.

3 was my first, and while I absolutely loved it as a kid (even 100%'d it back then, one of the few games I've ever bothered to do so) and it's still a very dear game to me, I admit it's kind of dull if you play it after any of the other ones, especially 2.
I replayed it recently (only got the mandatory treasures because I was lazy and some of the optional stages are just plain bad time) and I almost had to force myself through the first couple of stages but after getting the basic ground pound and throwing abilities it actually became quite good. I still like the boss gimmicks in 3 more than 2.
By the way, I can't be the only one who actually liked the golf minigame, right? I studied the manual pretty dilligently while comparing it my playstyle and managed to get quite a few hole-in-ones in the end. Pretty much the only reason I even bothered to get all the other stuff was so that I could play the extra course.

It's not a bad game, but I can understand the hate if you play the series in order, since you spend quite a long time without even the most basic of Wario's abilities from the previous games for no reason at all.
It's the kind of game you either love or hate depending on when you played it.
I'd still argue that once you actually have all the abilities, it plays way better than any other in the series. The only question is whether you actually want to keep playing after the credits.
