Sonkun's presets for the CRT-advanced shader is indistinguishable. You can choose slot-mask, shadow-mask, aperture-grille, and you can have flat or curved.

Emulators improve anon. That's what happens.

Once upon a time it woulda been 1440p 240hz using 720p integer scaled but 4k's just too flexible for native. 1440p > 4k at the correct viewing distance is okay when scaled on 5 tap or 6 tap so ye, not much to ask for.
How many more years, 3, 4? I can wait it out.

Nah, 3d action games and FPS still benefit from both 120 > 240hz and ULMB.
What you regard as too much is just making use of both refresh rates, scaling ratios and balanced PPI.
