What are the best retro shmups on the switch?

Cotton games, Gradius Trilogy, and Pocky and Rocky Reshrined are the only ones I know about

There's also some Cave games like Mushihimesama and Deathsmiles.

You can get so much on the Switch.
>Bio-Hazard Battle on the Genesis Collection
>FANTASY ZONE, Thunder Force III AC and IV through SEGA AGES
>Gleylancer and Gynoug (Wings of Wor)
>Plenty on arcade archives like Xexex, Pulsar, Raiden, In the Hunt, Xevious, Metal Black, X Multiply,
>R-Type Dimensions
>Various Darius collections
Also the others that were mentioned here.

i thought they lagtested the psikyo stuff and came up short?

>> No.9868192

>>9868115
Yeah, but IIRC Shmup Junkie(?) then successfully demonstrated that the lag was in keeping with previous console ports? I might be misremembering though.

Capcom Arcade Stadium is full of them.

R type dimensions is pretty cool. So I'll add Raiden v (I think?) Either way the switch is a port machine so there is tons of vr stuff and tons of indie stuff.

You need to go back, ꜱoyboy.

>> No.9869295

This is correct. He concluded the lag was not a problem.

Raiden V sucks ass with its story gimmick. IV is much better especially the Mikado remix.

There are indeed a lot of shmups on the Switch. Do any of you guys use a Flip Grip for vertical games? I just remembered those exist.

Not retro.

Unfortunately those don't work on the OLED model :(

Are those psikyo collections any good on Switch? I've only ever played Samurai Aces III on psp and I didn't really think too much of it.

>> No.9872394

>>9869302
Noted, have you tried Darius?
>>9872329
Nta but I haven't heard anything bad, limited run games is kinda redoing these compilations. I've read deathsmiles isn't great on this port.

Here's a good port idea, take the shooters of PC engine and just slap em in a dang port. Air zonk, magical chase blah blah blah just in HD with a straight port of the og included.

>>9872329
No, nothing is good on the switch.
Insane input lag and performance issues.
Shove it in your toaster and go back.

I don't have a Switch yet to test. Sengoku Canon felt alright on the PSP which was the way I tried it. The ports on Saturn were pretty responsive in Psykyo games, but I always felt Sony systems did not respect player inputs as much, yet I recognize my bias since the Saturn controller fits my play best.

I think there's a toaplan collection out there with fireshark

Who's getting the batsugun saturn tribute when it comes out?

I already own Batsugun on Saturn but seeing Toaplan slowly revive itself by switch/PS4 ports is a miracle I want to be a part of lol
Going to be a wild day when they announce Truxton 3 as their first new release!
