Me too. It has some of the best music ever composed. And the fact that you can change the music with your actions is even better. It's a shame the Wii version is only mediocre at best and that Balan Wonderworld sucks penis from a hospital bed.

I got back into it maybe about a month or so ago, it's alright but those A Ranks take me forever. Also I forgot how to beat Jackle and it's screwing me up. It felt great playing it to completion (both stories) a few years ago, though. Probably one of the best games on Saturn

I think the A-Life system is supposed to be its extra gimmick, but it's annoying that it's never really explained and kind of just gets in the way. It should've just been separate from the stages the same way the Chao Garden was done in the Sonic Adventure games. The fact that it loops so many times definitely doesn't help though. Even the average racing game only has three laps, in NiGHTS you need to do like twelve for an A Rank

I always wanted to like it, and I kind of do, but the gameplay isn't fun enough to make me want to get good at it. I struggle to get B ranks and then get bored. I wish there were more levels, 7 just feels abrupt.

Aesthetically it is peak Saturn, one of the nicest-looking/sounding games of its time.

Has that paradox where it's really fun to go fast but that also means you have to memorize the level which becomes a chore so you give up on it

The shorter levels are fun, the earlier ones especially are really fantastic. The more complicated larger levels just suck the fun out of the experience. It's very similar to the 2d sonics where everyone loves the green hill emerald hill type levels where you can just go through them and they feel great to play, but when they have to pad it out it's just not captivating.

Oh and some of the bosses are just straight up terrible.
