Why didn't Smash reference Nintendo's earlier arcade games such as Monkey Magic, Radar Scope and Space Lauhcer?

Sheriff appears in Smash Ultimate THOUGH

Just like Color TV Game 6 and Sheriff, which did have references in Smash…

>> No.9863718

Those games are less relevant than stuff like the Computer Mahjong Yakuman, the Wild Gunman FMV shooting gallery or the Love Tester.
The only one with any kind of legacy is Radar Scope because it indirectly led to Donkey Kong's creation.

Why didn't Smash reference Nintendo's love hotels? Imagine sex in Smash!

Probably for whatever weird reason supposed hardcore game geek Sackyoureye refuses to acknowledge any non japan released titles like myths n monsters and star tropics or just the bulk of non Ware Wario games in general.

They never had love hotels, that’s a myth.

This podcast did some research and determined that Nintendo's CEO owned some, but with his own money and not under the Nintendo name.

Are they? Didn't multiple old school devs confirm Nintendo was one of the few companies back in the day that DIDNT have a yakuza connection? Probably due to their lack of arcade presence.

all titles developed and programmed by Ikegami Tsushinki. nintendo merely contributed to art, design and sometimes sounds. due to a lawsuit in the 80s and 90s, nintendo don't own the rights to the software, only the characters, so they've been bitter ever since and rarely reference them. nintendo tried to take advantage of weak japanese copyright laws and claim ownership of everything.

as fucking IF they would acknowledge it and risk being killed. and for what? some gossip website/magazine? you are next level of stupid.

Love hotels are just places where you can rent rooms by the hour, it's only retarded westerners that think they're "controversial".

Why the fuck would they acknowledge that yea crime syndicates were in bed with these companies, but not this specific company? Either way they would potentially piss them off. Likely it would have been done confidentially without giving the guys name and home address.

The most interesting thing about the Ikegami Tsushinki incident was Rare coding from the ground up a new version of Donkey Kong with the goal of being 1:1 or as accurate as possible and in no way viable for any lawsuit. I'd say they succeeded, I think Rare's version of DK in DK64 is very arcade-accurate.
