Was Duck Hunt a worthwhile B-side to SMB1? Did you ever get into the light gun?

My neighbor friends had an NES before us and everyone congregated at their house to play SMB1. We got one a year later with the zapper and SMB1/Duck Hunt. All the neighborhood kids started coming over to our house instead. The zapper was legit hype, but it was only hype really. We played Duck Hunt only when we got bored of Super Mario and it was never really that fun, desu.
