Got it back in 1995 when I was in 5th grade. I was felt so lucky.
>>9765356
This. Originally it took 6 AA batteries, but you could play it forever thanks to that AC adapter. Around this time my dad started forcing me on road trips to go to vacation destinations instead of taking a plane, so that meant lots of hours on the road and staying at hotels. Thankfully I had the Nomad and a cigarette lighter AC adapter I could plug the Nomad into and play ToeJam & Earl and Sonic 3 & Knuckles well into the night since it was backlit like the Game Gear. Loved that fucking thing.

Well, let me tell you something son, back in my day we didn't have all these fancy gadgets and gizmos. We made do with what we had, and we didn't go out wasting our hard-earned money on frivolous things like rare retro consoles.

First of all, you need to prioritize your finances. You should be saving your money for important things like a down payment on a house or your retirement. Spending hundreds of dollars on a Sega Nomad is not going to help you achieve your financial goals.

Secondly, think about the long-term value of your purchases. While a Sega Nomad might seem cool and fun right now, it's not going to hold its value over time. In fact, it's likely that it will become outdated and worthless in just a few years. So why waste your money on something that's not going to last?

Finally, think about the opportunity cost of your purchases. Every dollar you spend on a Sega Nomad is a dollar that you can't invest or save for your future. Don't be short-sighted and only focus on the immediate gratification of owning a rare console. Instead, think about the bigger picture and how your financial decisions today will impact your future.

So, in conclusion, my advice to you is to think carefully before making any big purchases. Don't let your desire for the latest gadgets and technology cloud your judgment. Remember, financial stability and security should always come first.

Well son, let me give you some good old-fashioned advice. Retro game consoles may seem like a great investment, but the truth is they are not a safe bet.

First of all, technology changes rapidly. What may be popular today may be completely outdated tomorrow. Retro game consoles may hold sentimental value, but they cannot be expected to maintain their value over time. In fact, as time goes by, the market for retro game consoles may shrink, making it even harder to sell them at a high price.

Secondly, the market for retro game consoles is highly speculative. Prices can fluctuate wildly based on supply and demand, and it's impossible to predict how the market will react. Just because a retro console is popular now does not mean it will be popular in the future. So, investing in retro game consoles is a risky proposition.

Furthermore, there's no guarantee that a retro console will be in good condition over time. These consoles were not designed to last forever, and even with proper care and maintenance, they can break down or become obsolete. So, buying a retro game console as an investment is a gamble. There's no guarantee that it will hold its value, or even work properly in the future.

Finally, it's important to remember that investing in anything, including retro game consoles, comes with risks. There are no guarantees when it comes to investing, and it's important to do your research and make informed decisions. Don't be swayed by nostalgia or hype. Instead, look at the facts and make smart investment choices that are based on sound financial principles.

So, in conclusion, retro game consoles may be fun to collect and play, but they should not be seen as a safe investment. If you want to invest your money, look into more stable and reliable options. Don't let your love of video games blind you to the realities of the market.

I was one of those kids at the time it came out and we all thought it was a joke. The pitiful battery life was a running gag and everyone already had a Genesis. The ability to play Genesis games on the go wasn't that attractive since by 1995 that system was on it's way out.

I had one, my parents didn't let me own TV consoles. It was a very very good machine and Streets of Rage 2 looked better on it and sonic moved smoother one it, even though I had a 32 inch trinitron.

I think I sold it? Ran fine except it needed a new screen. LCD started to get so ghosty after 20 years.

A good example is looking at t his thumbnail and seeing how smooth it is, then blowing it up and seeing how pixelated it is.

got mine brand new for $30. LCD is still just as smeary as i remembered back in the 90s. rechargeable pack is dead but the normal 6AA pack still works fine.

Just played one for an hour then bought it, had been just recently recapped and had a TFT screen mod - I like it a lot, didn't come with the battery pack which I don't mind as I'll only use the adapter. I would have liked round face buttons and I may get a different D Pad at some point but it feels nice in the hands overall, and its lighter than I thought it would be. The weird angular design didn't bother me like I thought it would and both the screen and the sound quality were extremely impressive for me, Vectorman looked absolutely sick on it. Need to order an AV cable so I can play it on my CRT as its my only Genesis I have and I'm curious to see if I can output only the video to the TV while I use the console for audio output. Also want to look into if there's a way to use that second controller port as a Player 1 as I would still prefer an actual Genesis controller. Overall very cool, looking forward to playing in bed

The thing was ginornous. It might not feel like it in an adults hands but as a kid, the thing barely fits in your hand and it had horrible battery life. I only ever saw one of them in person in my entire life. Some kid brought it with him on a school trip and the batteries died on the bus before we even got to the place. Mean while the rest of us were playing Pokemon both ways of the trip.

I enjoy sitting in the living room with friends or family and semi-socializing while on my laptop browsing 4chan while they also use their phones/laptops and someone else is watching the television.
You may not like it but this is the reality we live in.
