Beat this today, it was good, I liked how they kept doing the opposite of what typically happens in these sorts of games.

For example, mansions generally only explode after you've finished exploring the whole thing, not when there's still mysteries to be solved.

But anyway, what was the deal with that haunted body in the traveller's room that I never exorcised before it was too late? Was it your father?

Probably one of the worst games i've ever played, and this game is still not as bad as Clock Tower 2 or Haunting Ground (Clock Tower 4).

I can also tell you're from reddit because of this spacing you're using, like this.

Atleast this game had a cute unlockable cowgirl costume for the Gal.

yeah, it's basically the same game although you do get a weapon but it's a magic weapon so you only get to use it after the bad guys have chased you around for an hour to charge it up, but boy is it satisfying to call a fucking angel meteor strike down on those fucking assholes when you couldn't fight back for so long.

and yes there's incest I don't know how you managed to guess.

ALYSSHAAA

I can't take this game seriously. My headcannon is that Capcom bought the franchise only to kill it on purpose with this game in order to destroy series competing with Resident Evil.

capcom bought this to lovingly give the series a second chance at life after the original dev shut down. they did their best and its honestly pretty good aside from taking way too many liberties with the supernatural, even for the series.

>>9763025
it's really fun, probably the most fun game in the franchise. SledgeHammer & Corroder > the rest. The Magical Girl aspect may piss some people off, but it suprisingly doesn't break the tone of the game. And it provides some catharsis after the tension chase/solving portions, which make the experience of the game worth.
They probably spent the entire budget of the game on the motion capture, I would've enjoyed a bit more content. But fuck that final boss fight.

I played them in that order and I think PSX is a much better game experience. I worry that SFC would bore people.
But I don't disagree that they're best played in the order you suggest.
I love them both so much. It burns me that Struggle within and 3 are both completely divorced from the story of the first two and Night Cry was no better.

It's like an hour long and not even particularly vague like most point and click games of that gen. Even then I think the atmosphere and beautiful sprite work should be enough to carry it

the bullying is one thing, but i think the themes of loneliness resonated more
>jennifer is isolated because of the bullies, her only form of companionship is brown
>wendy is isolated due to her being the queen of the society, her only companion is jennifer
>gregory is isolated due to the death of his son, he finds companionship in jennifer and eventually wendy
these all lead to tragedy, and the tragedy combined with the bittersweet but cathartic ending felt more earned than fiona killing an immortal alchemist
killing alchemists is fun, but its just not as cathartic

Did you try the recently updated Deluxe 2.0 hack?
The madlad did it again and improved the chase mechanics along with other stuff from the PSX version.

I myself am making a CT-inspired game (pic related). I don't know how long before it's done, though.
The first CT game truly had a great atmosphere, it's a shame there weren't more games with a similar aesthetic.

Currently, I'm cranking out the assets for the first half of the story and putting them ingame.
The story is practically finalized, I'm just unsure about a few details on the second half, but I need to see it in motion to get a better feel of it.
I spent the last three years cutting content, fixing the story/lore, refactoring and implementing new features.

Though this project has been in the back-burner for a decade, I think my skills are finally up on the task.
Once the game is playable from start to finish in all variations, I'll focus on adding the finishing touches, dialogues, translations, maybe voice acting, marketing, etc.

I'm using Adventure Game Studio. I'm one of the mantainers so I'm using this chance to implement and test new features in my experimental branch.

The game is Wretcher.
I have a twitter I should update more often, and a couple of severely outdated sites I plan to update.
Current game is several magnitudes better than old demo.
