Wrong. You're thinking of Yakra. The monster on the CT box art is actually Heckran, the monster that lives in the cave outside Melchior's house in 1000 AD.

His art was pure kino. The last time jrpg concept art was good is ff7 aeris looking at high wind

And I'd like to de-confirm something. No, I didn't draw the initial image based on a misconception about Arc Impulse based on that early screenshot of the game.
I had a full build of the game. I was well aware that Marle used ice, and not fire. But I disagreed. I do what I want. And when quality assurance tried to stop me, I gave them a good slap. "Don't tell me what to do, you lout" I said. And then I pushed him down the stairs as he was leaving. Was that called for? I don't care, I do what I want.
Btw Frog sucks. I drew him weak because he sucks. Look at him there in the snow. Pathetic. Crono is cool. He's the only one who can defeat the Heckran, and Frog can go kick rocks.

It's probably a good thing. One of CT's perks is that it doesn't really overstay it's welcome too much and is very compact for a JRPG.

Still, I wish we could have a remake of a game that actually adds in cut beta content someday

What the hell? You can't just be, like, creative and add shit. Cover art HAS to be literally a 1 to 1 representation of the game. Same for movies and books and everything else. You CAN'T be creative and weird like this. Fucking shit...
