except for the controller, you need one of the turbo ones to hit peak comfy

my favorite controller is the avenue pad 3
its a shame the avenue 6 doesnt have the same programmable 3rd button, its wired as 3 sets of 2 buttons

>> No.9723852

>>9723846
I feel like extra buttons on the system is pointless for me, most of the time it's just on select anyway
and the 6 just feels useless outside of SF2

I'm still a bit annoyed about the PC Engine Mini not having a fake cartridge slot. I could have a 3d printed mini hu-card made, but it would still look weird.

I would love to own the real one, even without the box, but I don't think the games are exactly affordable by now.

>> No.9723926

>>9723842
Indeed. I have a non-turbo PCE controller and even its D-Pad is worse. I prefer the TurboGrafx 16 controller over the standard turbo PCE controllers.

I need to fix my PC Engine controllers. For some reason they seemed to stop detecting some inputs. I have no clue why but I assume either they're dirty inside or the membranes are broken, and I guess there's no way of finding out for sure without opening it. It's probably just dirty but I keep putting it off. But now that I ordered the new Everdrive I guess I better fix them soon.

There are ways, but opening it is the easiest But Wise choice not to use daddys screwdriver without adult supervision.

you'd know this from pressing buttons
I guarantee it just needs some IPA on the contacts

>> No.9724246

>>9724139
Thanks but I'm not retarded. I repair shit all the time, I've just been too lazy to open it up because there wasn't anything I wanted to play for a while.
>>9724149
I've never actually encountered a broken membrane before so I have no idea what it would feel like. But it's probably just dirt or something anyway.

>> No.9724270

>>9724246
If the problem is as you describe it, affects multiple controllers only some inputs, it's probably your system. Hopefully not the CPU.

>> No.9724283

>>9724270
It's definitely not the system. It's been a while since I tried it, but I remember the last time I tried doing some hard pressed and that seemed to work. Changing to a different controller also helped. I have 5 controllers and they're not all fucked up but they all look the same so I get them mixed up when they're in my controller bin.

Don't try to diagnose other people's shit. Retards like you are what leads to perfectly good consoles getting trashed by retards.

It is one of my most favorite game consoles of all time, I hope you enjoy the games. Just pair that with the new Turbo Everdrive or SD System^3 and you can enjoy the great CD games too. Once my tax return comes in, I might have enough for the new Everdrive.

i tend to play more hucard over CD cuz hucard has a lot more sidescrollers, though there's a nice even split for shooters

here's my top 10 Hucards
>super dodgeball
>liquid kids
>bonk 2
>air zonk
>bomberman 94
>legendary axe
>mr heli
>parasol stars
>salamander
>soldier blade

honorable mentions: legendary axe 2, truxton, outrun, galaga 88, new adventure island, ninja gaiden, wonder boy iii dragon trap, darius plus, ninja spirit, tonma, bomberman 93

>> No.9724974

I wish it were possible to make consoles small again.

>> No.9725143

>>9724807
Same, I have a bigger bias towards Hucard games mostly because with CD, there seemed to be bigger incentive on adding more filler which works great for VNs. Although original SHMUPs were great across the board on all three PC Engine formats.
