I love when retards sell their garbage for lots of money. Same feeling as seeing a crappy CRT with only RF inputs listed for sale as "gaming TV" for 800 dollars.

Its called "pocket" monsters for a reason. Kids were putting these in their pockets, sitting on them, leaving them in pockets they washed, treated carelessly like toys, etc.
R/B sold 31 million copies, how many of those people were truly smart or careful? Hell even some geniuses live in squalor

We must live in the same country you and I. It's like these tards think their blown out consoles and games actually appreciate in value just because it touched their hands.

I have no idea. Retardation is all I can come up with. The only game that I have that's damaged like that is a Men in Black GBC game that I found half submerged in a mud puddle five years ago. I wasn't even that careful with my stuff as a kid. I left them in the floor and shit.

You know... you'd think there would come a breaking point and people would finally realize that one old game with a smashed up cartridge isn't worth over half of the average paycheck, yet here we are. I thought we would've reached that point by now.

This is why I buy Japanese games. I got Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, and Crystal for 40$ in total, which used to be the reasonable asking price for old software. Most other Japanese Game Boy games barely breach 12$ on eBay.

Why would you need anything besides? Plugging anything besides a coaxial cable into your TV for gen 3/4 is just autism , and gen 5/6 look better emulated at higher resolution

Have you ever noticed it's only American games that have this issue? Not to say that Americans necessarily take worse care of games than Japanese counterparts, but honestly, have you looked and inspected the sticker quality between US and Japanese releases? Japanese stickers were made of slightly better stuff. Glossier, much more resistant to wear and tear.

no I just think it's funny when you nerds sperg out over a gameboy cartridge as if it's some kind of litmus test. some people just rightfully stop caring about these things and leave them behind; then, you crawl out from the woodwork when one of these discarded objects is discovered to be damaged and you try to feign superiority in a mongolian basket weaving discussion yurt

The Japanese in most console and handheld games isn't too hard. These games were made for little kids, and the reading level is correspondingly low.
Pokemon is written at about a first grade reading level. Most RPGs are tougher than that, but even if you had just learned the kana yesterday I doubt you'd ever be completely lost as long as you took it slow.
When I was starting out I cut my teeth on the GBA Dragon Quest Rocket Slime game and I never felt like I was struggling. Of course I had to look a lot of words up, but you don't spend that much time reading dialogue in this type of game anyway.

If there's an untranslated game you're really interested in trying, rather than waiting for a fan translation, I'd recommend taking a few hours to learn kana and the very basics of Japanese grammar and seeing how far you can get by yourself. It can turn an otherwise forgettable game into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
