Time To Kill and Land Of The Babes are total jankfests but they still feel like Duke. I like their atmospheres more so then the actual sub-Tomb Raider style gameplay.

Zero Hour was great. Levels felt too long sometimes but besides that had a good time.

Never played the other two but Zero Hour is one of the best games on the 64 that never gets talked about.

The funniest thing about Zero Hour is that it runs on Build engine.

Time to Kill was fun but extremely hard. I started it hot off the heels of beating Tomb Raider 2 and the opening levels were harder than the ending ones in TR2. I eventually just used cheats because the game itself was a blast besides the ballbusting difficulty.

Overall I think the issue comes down to Tomb Raider style games just not being well suited to most of the enemies having hitscan weapons, there are just too many "turn corner, pig cop blasts you" moments that wear your health down over the course of a level.

Loved time to kill, land of the babes feels very phoned in even early on, I may try it again to see if I can get more out of it. Time to kill is a great game and nails duke and the levels superbly. Love how levels are properly designed around the jet pack.

I was surprised to learn LOTB wasn't made by 3D Realms and was also poorly received, to me it was amazing on the level of Duke3D

I prefer 3rd person, but coming off duke 64, i was extremely pissed to find out zero hour wasnt a fps sequel to it. I think there was a cheat code to use fps mode, but it only functioned in multiplayer maps.

Land of the Babes was my first Duke game. It was fun but I was sad that none of the babes ever got naked.

Of that lot? Duke nukem time to kill on the PS1 was the best of them but really there was no good duke nukem game after the original duke nukem3d which was wonderful. Even duke nukem time to kill was a major disappointment at the time for people who had loved 3d and just wanted more. I'm actually playing through duke numkem forever right now. It is sigh as well. If you want duke nukem on a console its duke nukem 3d on a PS1 or PC not any of those in OPs pic
