What are the best arcade games that were never ported to (retro) consoles?

Also, which arcade games never got a GOOD console port?

Konami's beat 'em ups are the usual suspects for this topic. It's criminal they haven't released a collection for modern home systems like Capcom

This one is almost a literal clone of Snow Bros, sans the charm and with dangerously undertested level layouts.

probably a dumb question but are there any arcade-exclusive games that have the "depth" of a pc/console game? not just quarter munching shootemups and beatemups? basically anything you'd find outside of the "arcade genre"

Tower of Druaga and The Return of Ishtar if you don't count their presence in arcade compilations on consoles. The first requires you to figure out how to get hidden items on each level that can only be revealed by level-specific methods, the later involves memorization of the levels and exits to reach the end.

probably because Konami doesn't have the docs or talent to emulate their weird retro video hardware.

the 1987 Ghostbusters and most of the early 90s arcades were good. Gunforce, that round table one also

they tried more to make them fun then compared to now. Probably had more people playing since phone and consoles weren't around everywhere then

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. The Genesis version is a very different and not as good game but is worth playing too. They aren't even the same genre.

Did you know there was a Cadillacs and Dinosaurs pinball machine in development at one point? Source:
