Why do people shill this?

What’s so fun about it compared to the stand-alone?

>> No.9639341

The campaign is actually quite hard compared to base game, which is piss easy even on highest difficulty. That being said, TS > everything else.

IDK, the originals were much better

I couldn't suspend disbelief when these wizard towers are suddenly controlling the US and a full naval invasion by the Soviets somehow takes the US off guard.

WTF is the idea that Russians = psychic tricksters anyway? Seems based on caricatures of Rasputin.

I always played the original over this one online. Mainly because there was almost no point in playing YR online because you'd be insta-kicked for picking Yuri's faction, and the new stuff Allied and Soviets got never saw any competitive use anyway because most games devolved into who can shit out the most basic tanks the fastest.

It was really cheap fun back then. At Target and Best Buy, the clearance sections were filled with good games with a red pricetag/dot indicating 50% off the listed price, so for $2USD, you could have hours of entertainment. That's less than what I spend now for my dinners at the Costco food court.

Yeah because I don't know if you don't realize this, but 99% of C&C players never touched online. Not just because online connections kinda sucked when this series was big for a lot of people, they buy RTS games for the campaign.

>> No.9646883

>>9646452
It is easy, but also a better game. The only hard C&C games are TD and RA if you don't cheese them.

It's just the facts. Most people play the campaign of an RTS and then never touch the game again unless they want to play the RTS again. They don't even bother with skirmish.

And? That doesn't mean most people engage in it. Blizzard published data on this shit themselves thanks to SC2 being always online so they could see what people did. The vast majority of players play the campaign then stop playing the game.

I really don't know why this is surprising to you when fighting games are built around getting as many fotm players on launch as possibly, knowing only the fgc will stick around after that point.

This was literally a thing both sides did. Maybe it has something to do with LSD or all the cults that cropped up, but America actually spent money on trying to find psychic spies and so did the USSR. Because we couldn't afford a bullshit gap.

Anon, are you aware of the concept of exaggeration for the sake of emphasis? There's a reason people use 99% and not the actual number when referring to a majority.

>> No.9648829

>>9639414
The entire game was heavy on b-movie influences. You draw the line at psychic towers but you are okay with weaponized dolphins, dudes permanently airborne due to jetpacks, tanks that turn into trees, the Eiffel tower being used as a giant tesla coil, tiny robot spiders that eat tanks from the inside, time machines, iron curtains granting invincibility, troopers who erase you from time, Professor Einstein being dropping you beacons on enemy movement, and weather control devices that can summon a lightning storm anywhere on the map?

>>9646883
RA1 is piss easy too. Only C&C1 was hard, and only if you turtle like a retard instead of solving the map before the AI wakes up.

Can confirm and it makes me very happy to this day just thinking about it. Either you like the crazy camp or you don't. Much like original Warhammer 40K, it was not meant to be serious. It was meant to be fun.

Well we stole all the best scientists including Einstein. We also tried to steal Doctor Who, but technically the British still have control of the best space time trickster because that heist did not go well.
