Not OP, but I've tried downloading a PC-88 emulator before and I have no idea how to make it work because it's missing some sort of ROM file that it needs to run but there are no actual explanations in English that I can find of what files are needed or how to get the emulator working. The closest I've gotten is finding a full PC-88 game collection with a folder that contains a bunch of files like PC88.ROM, PC88.FNT, and so on. I put those in the folder with my emulator executable and the result is pic related, with those white text boxes at the bottom blinking in and out. I have no fucking clue what I'm doing and no idea where to find info on what to do.

OP here, same. Is it the zip on archive.org?

Yeah, "PC88 ROM 1900." There's also an EXE in there among those files that seems to be an emulator as well, but it simply won't open on my computer for some reason.

Not even sure what emulator that is, I use M88, but in essence you just need the BIOS files (they're in the neo kobe set, which it sounds like you downloaded), then you open a disk image in one of the disk drives and reset the computer.

I figured it out, there were multiple PC-88 emulators I downloaded and I was using the wrong one.
OP, in case this helps you I got the emulator from here: http://takeda-toshiya.my.coocan.jp/common/binary.7z
The one that worked was called pc8801ma.exe
From the LZH file in the Archive.org torrent, I extracted the folder inside (PC88)M88_212a.zip and then moved pc8801ma.exe into that folder and ran it, then mounted a d88 file in the floppy drive and it worked. I couldn't get M88.exe to work so using that other emulator was the only way I could get it going.

you want to emulate a system that almost requires the full keyboard on a device with no physical keyboard?
Are you sure about this?

Cool. Let us know what you're playing. Pic is semi-unrelated, I just think the name is funny.
