He's not wrong. Nintendo refused to adopt discs despite having larger storage and being cheaper to produce, which lead to PS1 games being cheaper. They also had more longevity, since the cartridge pins corrode faster than a disc would decay. On top of this, PS1 went with a very practical design for its controller, where-as the N64 tried to appeal to both concepts simultaneously, and failed utterly, with people still complaining about its controller to this day.

I used to think that they designed the controller the way they did to prevent piracy in the future since emulation was beginning to start around the time of its release, then I found out they literally were just incompetent when designing the controller and I was baffled.

My childhood with simultaneous 4players was Mario Kart/party/golf/tennis, bomberman 64, cruis'n, new tetris, i think tetrisphere PPL and Dr. Mario but im not too sure if those were 4players or 2players
Also Crash Bash and Bomberman Party Edition on PS1. im sure there were more but those were what came to mind on ps1
