Can't find an image of it online but the Ghost Bomberman (or whatever it's called) from Bomber Hero on the Mirror Room.

I was 8 and it was 10 at night. I heard a bomb go off in the distance but I knew I had not placed any bombs. Little while later, I see the Ghost Bomberman throwing a bomb at me. It was the only thing in video games to frighten me.

Two things in particular scared the daylights out of me.

First was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYZpU6awSl4 just an audio cue, but it gave me chills.

I also was afraid that Carmen Sandiego would kidnap me. I figured that if she could steal the Grand Canyon, she'd have no problem snatching up an 8 year old.

A lot of the things in Super Mario 64, but it was mostly the technical stuff.

Like the draw distance and the camera clipping through things.

The eel terrified me, but it was much worse having it pop into view out of nowhere on the swim down.
The camera clipping through walls and showing the infinite sky also freaked me the fuck out
.
Both those things still kind of get me, and I've had a lot of bad dreams where I would wake up sweating where I was viewing it from a SM64 viewpoint and things would clip through walls, the "camera" wouldn't point exactly at what I wanted to look at (usually some kind of scary monster).

I was playing SMB in the dream on one of the levels where it's night time, like 3-1 or something. And there was this insanely scary lightning going on, and then it seemed like it was me running through the level, trying to not get killed by this murderous lightning. "ofcourse dad, im 10 now Im not a little kid". i was so excited about the playstation i couldn't sleep so i got up in the middle of the night to play some more. i got to the part where the dogs jump through the window and i got so scared i yelled loud enough that my dad woke up. he came to my room and understood what was going on. he took the resident evil disc and said he would return it once i was big enough to play it. i got the disc back a year later and to this day he taunts me about being scared of a video game.

We were playing Bram Stoker's Dracula on the Megadrive back in 1993 or so, and one kid got scared of the music and suddenly started flipping out. He was so annoying that we grabbed him, held him down in front of the TV, turned off the lights, turned up the volume and played some more Dracula right then and there.

The kid called us names and wriggled for a bit, but then he lost it and screamed so horridly we actually got scared ourselves. Then his mom, a mean dumb bitch we all hated, came into the room and took him away. We all thought it was a good riddance indeed and played on until we lost interest on the stairways level, which was too shitty even for a bunch of 9 year olds. Egads, the Psygnisys Dracula game was so bad.

Nothing really scared me. The closest thing though would be the shark in Ocarina of Time.

It was just so creepy for some reason. Especially the fact that it was a sprite and not a 3d object.

fucking nightmare creatures for ps1. I remember spending christmas at my grandma's in an RV in the backyard and playing that game on a demo disc on a shitty tv. I swore I could still hear the sound effects after i turned it off and was trying to sleep.

>played DK Land on GB
>underwater level
>what is that weird looking rock
>suddenly a fucking huge Nautilus starts chasing the fuck out of me
>turn off GB in disgust and fear
>develop an octopus phopia
>eventually finish the game though

another one:
>play Shadowman on N64
>get nightmares, can't sleep at night
>didn't really progress
>game is fucking disgusting and has such horrible motives and themes going on
>never touch it again
>try not to remember it

that fucking game is a true horror game but don't bother if you don't want to get disturbed. it's so disturbing and depressing.
