Why is it less fun on subsequent playthroughs?

>> No.9596128

>>9596120
Because it's boring with no stakes and very repetitive with only one shitty castle setting

The fun of adventure games comes from exploring the unknown. That's lost when you already know what lies ahead. Same reason why I can't stand most Zelda games on repeat playthroughs.

Zelda games have comfy locations that stay comfy at least, but you are not wrong

I'm stuck on/bored at the harpy/medusa heads/ clockwork part. How much of the game is left? Judging by the map I'm halfway through. I know there's a flipped map thing but I heard it's optional.

You can get the “bad” ending soon if you have the bat power up unlocked it’s near where you are on the map

It is very easy once you know what to do. Tetra spirit, soul steal, Crissaegrim, shield rod, sword brothers: all that stuff makes every enemy a breeze. The fun part is exploring. So there's not much replay value, sadly.

Works on my machine. Just playing on a different setup makes for a great experience.

Luckmode Alucart should be default tho.

Better question: why are contrarianiggas so dumb?

It's too easy.
I think that the game is a lot more fun to play on Luck Mode, because it makes you weak as fuck early on and you need to be very methodical and careful to not get raped immediately, but you do catch up with the game as you go, and by the time you reach the end of the upside down castle you're not struggling anywhere.

The GBA and DS games added Hard Modes, which are nice, though those need to be unlocked. AOS played fresh on Hard Mode (not carrying over stuff from a run), I think is the most fun way to play it.

>>9596154
There's some left. The Clocktower is kind of AIDS, but it's brief and you don't have to go back there again after you've gotten through. The upside down castle is missable/skippable, but honestly it's worth at least getting as far as seeing it for a bit, just for the novelty. The game loses steam a bit once you get there, but the pace also winds up a lot and it's quite fast to explore as you already have all abilities as you get there.

>>9596234
I do think that there's some fun in trying out random OP shit, in a HOMM3 kind of way, but that kind of comes at odds with challenge.

Because like every game where you have to get EXP points and level up and attribute points to skills and hunt for better equipment, it's a chore.

Talk for yourself, I replay the sands of time trilogy every other year and it never gets old.

Only Sands of Time is worth playing, let alone replaying. The other two are such a drop in quality it's hard to believe.

Tbh all 3 have such different tones that I love replaying the entire thing for the different "tastes" each one has.

And even then, I love them all on their own.

However, I must admit that THE sands of time is the best out of the 3.

Half the fun is getting lost and exploring, and butting your head figuring out where to go next. Once you know where everything is it's just a chore to go through.
