I've had the normal EZ Flash Omega for some years and it's worked perfectly for me. If you can wait just a couple of seconds after saving your game before you turn off your console you'll be fine.

The reason EZ Flash Omega has a lot of weird rumors around is because you can no longer buy directly from the original manufacturer and there are a LOT of knockoffs floating around.
(there is a site now that claims to be the official site, but the real official site https://www.ezflash.cn/ just lists them as another reseller)

The fact that you can buy a Everdrive GBA directly from Krikzz on his webstore to me makes it automatically the right choice.
Yes, the EZ Flash Omega is an excellent product - but the gamble you take when buying one and lack of manufacturer support just makes it not worth it to me. Plus obviously the power consumption stuff people have been mentioning.

They speculate but I can't see anything definitive. In fact on most of these threads on sites like Reddit or GBATemp, replies are confident that there aren't clones of these cards.

That's not a clone card, that's just being sold the wrong product. A malicious attempt to dupe buyers maybe, but it's not a fake cart from a different manufacturer.

You already posted it. I already had the OG EverdriveGBA but I wanted to give it to someone so I bought myself a mini. Both work perfectly. I have an IPS mod and neither draw too much current.
