This is a long winded way of asking "what's your favourite racing game?".

What is this online obsession with granularly categorising everything and being deliberately vague? You get this a lot now with OPs who ask "is there for this?" and it's two things unrelated or something obvious.

The 3DS remaster by M2 is pretty good. It's got the rare original version of the arcade (all different courses), two new songs and an optional 60FPS mode.

if you actually have a 3DS, playing the game with the stereoscopic effect is the best use you'll ever get out of that console
the port is practically perfect, with one minor setback, they didn't get the ferrari license so we're stuck a shittier car sprite

I played Jaguar XJ220 for SEGA CD and was pretty unimpressed. Not sure if it's any better on Amiga but it just feels like a worse OutRun to me. Road Spirits for TurboGrafx CD is in a similar category but somehow I find it slightly more fun to play.

Totally agree with you. I loved that game when it came out and last night was my first time playing it in at the very least 10 years. I loaded it on my PS2 Everdrive (pic related) and damn that game is just as fun to me as it was back then. Had an issue at first with the music not playing but some fiddling in the OPL settings took care of that. Bought the F50 then called it a night. Can't wait to unlock more stuff.

I love Out Run so god damn much, the game balance punishes collisions a thousand times more than it punishes going slow, so instead of feeling like you're taking risks and redlining it more just feels like you're just driving and making clean passes through traffic. my favorite gotta be turbo outrun, for the underratedness. i'm mesmerized by the idea of a race across the continent, f40 cabrio is beyond cool, and the games throws tons shit at you, it's the opposite of the relaxing drive (jk, game over) of the original.
outrunners perfected this game style though. and road rash series gameplay is miles ahead of anything else in the genre.
>>9589512>>9589560
this is not a game of this type. f-zero is an actual 2d racer like micro machines, super off-road and gran trak 10. we're talking about 1.5d ""racing"" games here.
>>9589624
this however is. along with outrun 2, i guess.

these are "figure out the insane illogical mechanic of this particular game and then apply it with mad reflexes". gameplay isn't the fun part here, presentation is. i recommend everyone just cheat through them if you encounter any difficulty. except for road rash, road rash is cool.
for easiness, play 3d racing games. in this case, easier comes with deeper and just better, the more realistic racing game is the more close it is to other ones so more of your prior skill transfer.
