I thought that fast purple Shellcreepers in Mario Bros are zombie versions of the regular ones. When you flip a turtle on its back and don't kick it in the water, the turtle dies from it and becomes undead, seeking for revenge. Same with fighter flies. Sidesteppers are just turning pink from rage.

I once made up an imaginary friend named Jamal from Jamaica who could teleport into my kitchen via the fridge's ice cube dispenser since "he's so cool"

I didn't know that down meant like feathers so I assumed a Phoenix Down was a literal downed phoenix corpse kept dead in some kind of stasis.
So I just imagined reviving someone with a Phoenix Down implied lying the dead body on the dead body and breaking the seal so that that Phoenix would revive itself and the ally you wanted to revive got caught up in that revival energy and came back to life too.

i thought the icon for the rupee counter was a diagonal clenched fist. like it was supposed to symbolize a hand clenching a money bag or something. i never gave it a second thought as a kid then one day in high school it dawned on me what a dumbass i was.

As a kid I always thought the Fygar from Dig Dug was a massive green human head. The eyeball was the same, but the red pixels on the left were the tongue.

I wore out my uncle's mouse button in Master of Orion 2 battles.
Thought if you kept clicking on a ship you were attacking you would do more damage.
Didn't relise that it was just the computer being slow repeating the animations and sounds.
