I was lucky and had a rental store that kept these around until the early 90's. I got to at least try a decent portion of the library back in the day. It wasn't a great system compared to the NES but there were a few gems

As a child I'd see the wall of them at the video store and simultaneously think it was cool to see all the boxes so unified to tell you "VIDEO GAMES" in your little brain, but at the same time also completely uninterested in them because they looked as exciting as doing homework.

He's kinda right though, the difficulty is really up there.

>"ooooh so this is what that game is about, i've been missing out this whole time"

I learned not to judge a 'book' by its cover with doa2.

I rented this one a few too many times myself. The mini game style lent itself to this well. It hid the general lack of substance.

I wanted to try picrel but always had something else to try first.

That one has shown up a couple of times lately in ads in Nintendo Power threads. The game may be fine but I do not like those pictures at all. I think there are three variations? They're all unpleasant.

Washers, kinda similar to horseshoes, and virtual reality games, not sure I wanna miss it, I think it's around $150 or thereabouts.

The last three levels are too hard to enjoy, you have be extremely precise in your movement, while dealing with inverted physics.

I dropped the difficulty to easy and cruised to the end and said fuck it. No way am I forcing my way through something that exacting. Too bad, because the first two-thirds of the game are pretty good.
