I can still turn my unit on and off but the actual switch feels like it's jammed or busted as instead of going back and forth like a normal switch it will switch left when turning on but seems to get stuck in the middle when turned off and will go downwards on the inside of the unit on the right instead of switching right and takes a lot of force to move the switch

this, the plastic sliding switch should just sit over the actual switch and it sounds like its now sitting to the side of the actual switch

You seriously can't just open it and see without making a thread?
Why are some people so afraid to open the extremely simple-to-open devices that are retro consoles?

OP isn't allowed to touch daddys tools. Ever since that incident with the cat. God rest her soul. To be fair, that hole did kinda look like it took a phillips screwdriver.

I have the same issue, I tried to fix it with super glue but it came apart a couple of week later so I just use a pen on the switch. I think the issue is that actual switch gets gummed up so it gets harder to switch so you have to push a lot harder down on it which causes the plastic holder to come undone. I've been using the pen for a few months now. Maybe hot glue would be better to use with some silicon under the button to make it slide smoother. Another idea could be make a riser for the switch and 3D print a direct connection button but that would probably cause solder stress.

>carbon dating proves it, heckin science!
You bring up a good point. I've never seen the process of "carbon dating" questioned before. Are we really expected to believe that it's 100% accurate?

>I've never seen the process of "carbon dating" questioned before
Then you've led a very sheltered life. I'm guessing not much more than a dozen years of one.
>Are we really expected to believe that it's 100% accurate?
Are you asking if a measurement that literally says it has a margin off error is 100% accurate? You'd do better wondering how accurate your IQ test results are.
