Got a Japanese Saturn for myself for Christmas I haven't played yet, bought a repro of Radiant Silvergun and Astal, thinking one of those tomorrow, never played a Saturn before.

I started playing Chrono Trigger for the first time since release earlier this week. It's funny I made two "mistakes" I made way back then. First I got trapped between the guy and the refrigerator in the Mayors house/tutorial area and had to reset the game from the beginning because I hadnt saved. Soon as it happened I was like holy shit I remember this happened to me 30 years ago too!

then I beat Black Omen as soon as it appeared forgetting that was the end of the game. I was mislead by the dialogue same as when I first played it which made it seem like thats where you should go next. up to that point the game was linear so I didnt even think about going anywhere else especially with your guys saying "its calling us to it" "we're gonna get sucked in" .

tonight I'm gonna start a new game plus and beat lavos at every point possible to see all the endings. after that I'm starting either EarthBound or FF6, both I havent played since release. EB I only beat once, but FF6 I think I completed 2 or 3 times.

As for fresh start, I'm not sure. I'm going to make it a point to play all of the big titles I just never nutted up and played. Maybe FF7, if I can do two RPGs back to back.

The guy fho made the Ecco thread and that I originally got both of the ga for Christmas so they still hold a nostalgic seasonal twinge I started another playthrough of them and hoped to finish at least the first one but only got to dark water so far. But everyone else is asleep, I'm three sheets to the wind so I don't think I'm doing that bad.

Already did a playthrough of Megaman 2 just after midnight, it's a tradition for me. Besides that though, I'm probably going to play Legend of Oasis for the first time.

I started replaying Super Metroid today expecting to not play it much and ended up playing it for like 4 hours straight. One of the best games ever.

Less than I did previously.
I've had it since about 2004, and I've put a lot of time into it, but didn't actually beat it until a couple of years ago on PS4. I ended up using the broken dagger glitch because I just wanted to see the damn ending of the game after more than a decade.
The weapon system just seems poorly done. It doesn't feel like I'll ever realistically evolve a weapon, because it takes so long and I usually just end up finding a better one before I come even close. Plus, the build up requirements are never the weaknesses that the current dungeon could actually use.
I'm going to give it until the moon, because that's where I'd always lose interest, and if I don't feel like continuing I'll just move onto 2 (which I've also played a ton but never come close to beating).

Playing through Elminage Gothic. Something about using my imagination with my custom party is so incredibly comfy and I wish I found these kinds of games sooner. I plan to play through Wizardry after finishing.

Super Robot Wars 2 on Famicom

tactics game with RPG elements like Fire Emblem except easier (at least so far; and anyway you can revive your characters at a cost at the end of a mission), but the presentation is excellent for Famicom. Miles ahead Famicom Wars and its glitchy laggy interface
