i think someone (or even capcom) should put together a megaman game akin to Sonic Generations.
where you could play as either megaman or X, pushing the shit in of robots from the previous games.
this is fairly retro related, if not completely

>> No.942408

Would be a cool idea if Megaman wasnt, yknow, dead.

>> No.942414

The only crossover between classic and X that should EVER happen is the story that will eventually bridge the two.

>> No.942420

I wonder, if they were to make a Megaman Generations, would Battle Network be included? It's not a part of the canon timeline, but would anyone care?

>Eventually bridge the two

Maybe in a better world, Anon.

A world where Capcom still loves Megaman.

>> No.942442

That was sort of what Universe was gonna be, but then the blue bomberpocalypse of 2012 happened and they cancelled it.

Shame, a game that mashed together Classic, X, Zero, Battle Network, Legends, etc. could be neat to see.

I would, I love Battle Network. Maybe because it was my first MegaMan games, but that didn't negatively affect my appreciation of other MM series.

>> No.942574

That was sorta what that MMO was gonna' be.

You know, until Capcom canceled every megaman related project at once.

They tried the massive generation crossover, and called it...Xover. It's pretty much the worst thing they ever did.

>>942408
Being in Smash Bros. is the last chance, really. There's ONE good chance after it's successful, and if that gets fucked up, then the franchise is dead and Capcom is dead to me along with it.

After Keiji Inafune left Capcom (rather abruptly), they seemed to take it out on his most famous creation, Mega Man. They cancelled projects, removed Mega Man from crossover games, and when they did include Mega Man in another series it was the derpy blue and yellow Mega Man from the American box art of the first game. For Mega Man's 25th anniversary, Capcom didn't release anything, but they did pay someone to finish their awful Streetfighter/Mega Man crossover game and release it as a gift to the fans, which was like opening a present and finding a box of chocolate-covered cat turds. Oh, well, they did release one thing: a really shitty, Japan-only iOS game.

Thankfully, Capcom has allowed the Blue Bomber to appear in the new Super Smash Bros., and it appears that Namco and Nintendo are going to do a fine job of implementing the character.

Capcom doesn't have much interest in their own mascot anymore, and what little interest they do have is contempt.

>> No.942635

>>942618
So, Mega Man is the new CapCom?

Bullshit. I refuse to believe this shit.

>> No.942640

Capcom has been trying hard to strike it rich in the age of CoD, so all of their bright, colorful IPs have taken a backseat to endless Resident Evil sequels, Dragon's Dogma and Westernized Devil May Cry.

I'm still mad about the whole Darkstalkers thing.

>> No.942641

Oh, please, Captain Commando hasn't been their mascot in twenty-five fucking years. It's been Mega Man ever since the series finally brought them huge, mainstream success in Japan and the US.

With a few exceptions, it's been a series of really good games. Personally, all I want is a game that explains what happens between the classic and X storylines.

Mine had a really weak neck ball joint but a little superglue fixed it and I still have plenty of movement. I love thse guys I can't wait to get more. They definitely need to make some Robot Masters. I would kill for a d-arts Snake Man, Spark Man and Gemini Men

For better or worse, it's pretty obvious that it's going to involve a final confrontation between Mega Man and Zero, and Mega Man is going to have to sacrifice himself to stop Wily one last time. I hope he and Blues go together, as brothers, in arms and in spirit, foreshadowing the sacrifice Zero will make in MMX.

>> No.944163

Sounds neat. Though it would be so fucking hard to pick which levels between design, boss power, and music.

Also I find Rock and X have very different play styles. X is a lot less linear (in level), but the older ones are more run and gun. Not sure how to handle that without it just being a compilation disk of all the games.

>They tried the massive generation crossover, and called it...Xover.
Come now. Obviously Xover isn't bad because it attempted the crossover. It was bad to begin with and slapped on the crossover as a means to market itself.

The fact that Capcom OK'd them writing this game as the long awaited crossover of series is the biggest insult. Not even that it's a cheap iPhone game, just that they dared pretend it was the game we were all waiting for.

I really don't want Nintendo to buy Mega Man, like, at all. I'd honestly rather have Sega or Namco buy it.

I don't know. Sega does some wonderful things from time to time, and a Sonic Megaman game crossover would be potentially orgasmic. But their track record is so rocky. I'm not sure they'd invest the same kind of time and money into him as they do, say, Sonic.

And Namco? Why Namco?

Me too, but I just know people would throw a bitch-fit like they did for 10. Cries of MILKING THE FRANCHISE, WHERE'S MUH GRAPHICS and other such hooey.

Would probably be worth it, but still not looking forward to that part.
