Been enjoying pic related but what is up with the vials? Theres a dude in one of the towns that offers you something in exchange for them but whenever I do it gives me some message not accepting them when I have more than what he wants. I guess to make the thread last a tad bit longer, is there any games similar to this?

I recently finished this. I didn't love it but it was pretty good. I've already forgotten the fine details of how vials work though. But yeah as anon said they should just be money that you can use to buy weirdly-named extra lives. I don't know why you would have trouble spending them... I remember having trouble understanding the system myself (mainly because of the weird names), but it wasn't ever difficult to make the purchases. Are you sure you didn't accidentally buy something without realizing it, or something?

If you mean hybrid between adventure/rpg and sidescrolling action, there are quite a few. Zelda 2, Getsu Fuma Den, Super Chinese 3, perhaps The Lone Ranger but that one is hybrid with other genres as well and The Battle of Olympus and Cosmo Police - Galivan though too are more Metroid style and don't have the RPG overworld.
