I think we can all agree that Capcom made a fuckload of good games. It's practically impossible to agree on what their greatest game is so what, in your opinion, is their greatest franchise?

Ironically all the ones that aren't really Capcom but Clover, Kamiya, Mikami
>Okami
>Viewtiful Joe
>God Hand

Monster Hunter easily but the best ones aren't quite /vr/

I dunno what their best game is, but they were the GOAT at the beat 'em up genre. Armored Warriors, Aliens vs. Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, et al. They had it down.

>> No.9415065

Street Fighter is the boring but probably correct answer. Most of the other franchises have had terrible games sprinkled in over time.

Aladdin on SNES, vastly superior to the Virgin Interactive version. Second favourite would be Goof Troop, also on the SNES.

They had Super Nintendo in India?

The Megaman franchise will always be their flagship. There would be no money for Street Fighter if it wasn't for the blue bomber.

It's a crime how they somehow managed to dupe the masses into believing that garbage Virgin Aladdin is better. Literally doesn't even get the colors and tone of the movie right and the gameplay is ass

I wish I could say MM as I’ve beaten those games too many times, but sadly Capcom was just hellbent on killing him after the bad breakup. I’m still sad we didn’t get that official Mega Man Maker.

Okami and DMC3 will always be close to my favorite games.

>>9415056
>>9415594
Same. It’s funny cuz most AAA games can’t capture the epic moments that just naturally occur during hunts when you get to some of the mid-late game monsters. Throw in all the different ways you can play the game and all the time you can spend just learning one monster alone… it’s wild. Easily the series I have the most time in.

Yeah I don't really like to think how much time I've spent on that series. I maxed the clock on the first game long, long before I stopped playing and other than Tri on the Wii I played every one all the way through until World/Rise which I only dabbled with and somehow doesn't feel like MH to me.

Those moments though, you are right. There's nothing else like them. Finally beating Alatreon solo in whatever game that was, what an incredible fight.

At some point you should give Rise another shot. It’s one of the 4 new games that I truly enjoyed this entire console generation. It’s a nice mix of MH+DMC+one of the better MMO’s. When you start getting the controls and movement system down you can do some wild things, and all the monsters aggression has been dialed up to match the new faster pace. MH4U is still my favorite, but Rise is definitely up there. It’s got a great late game, and an even better DLC.

>Mega Man Classic
Better than Mario, Contra, and Castlevania by a long shot. Pretty much the reason to play NES.
>Mega Man X
Rivals Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, with the 32-bit entries being just as good if not better.
>Street Fighter/Marvel vs. Capcom
Classic arcade action, and admittedly their most successful series even if they kind of milk in nowadays
>DarkStalkers
Interesting offshoot of the Street Fighter formula, doesn't get as much recognition by Capcom but still worth checking out
>Carrier Air Wing/UN Squadron
Overlooked airship shmups, great music, solid gameplay, impressive graphics
>Resident Evil
Still haven't played these games yet myself, but they pretty much set a standard for the survival horror genre from what I understand

Capcom made a lot of great games throughout the years, sadly some of their best work was arcade exclusive back in the day, with games like Cadillacs & Dinosars and Alien vs Predator never really seeing a home console release. The D&D games are also fantastic, as well as some of their arcade platformers like Willow and Magic Sword. There's still a ton I haven't played yet, too.
