What is everyone playing on their handhelds this week?

Been addicted to Gameboy pinball games recently. Lots of Revenge of the 'Gator, Super Robot Pinball, played a bit of Kirby pinball, didn't enjoy Pokemon Pinball too much.

Got a GBA flashcart that I've barely touched, any good pinball or high score attack games for it? I like trying to beat my high score on games while riding the subway. QIX Adventure for GBC is so fucking good.

It's a PS1 game but I've been emulating it on my switch (handheld) AND it's pinball!

Mario Pinball is decent on GBA for it's different take on the genre.

Oracle of Seasons. I’m missing one heart piece, but I’m too lazy to search the whole map and don’t want to look it up. The game’s a lot longer than I remember, too. I think I’ll be just at 13 hours once I kill Onox, where I’m currently saved.
I’m not sure if I’ll go right to Ages, or if I’ll take a break and play something in between. I don’t want to get burned out playing both games twice in a row.

I've been playing Pokemon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire on GBA. I'm not a Pokemon guy but it is fun to collect and evolve them in a pinball format and the tables are quite well designed. Only downsides are no rumble and there are just 2 tables. Worth a go I think even though you didnt like the GBC version.

Did DQ Monsters tonight. It's odd in that while there's monsters and types, none seems effective over another, they're all just levelbases with different skill learning and exchangable skills. Breeding over generations is fun, and while you want to change monster a lot due to getting new ones at a good rate, your stable can't hold 'catching them all', so you breed off ones you liked and make ubermon with your favorite skills. Though it still doesn't help against S class and its instadeath curse monsters you just gotta pray to RNG you don't let get a hit in.

Can't be fucked with the postgame as it's more abusing ffwd on emulator to max out and then start over with new bred mons, and more random dungeons with ungodly numbers of floors. Is 2 better/different enough?

Oooh man. And there are a million of them to play, too. My first was 3D, and I've played most of the non-retro ones at this point. The retro ones are kind of hard to go back to since they're missing some key features for me, like easy square counting.
I wish they'd make more themed ones.

be careful doing the screen
if you have to peel that reflective backing
go SLOWLY or it will be destroyed its fragile af

its not impossible but its one of the most difficult mods for the dmg until you start forcing GBC guts inside the case...

if you fail the IPS mods aren't as bad as people here say they are, but DO NOT FAIL the original screen with led backlight is maximum comfy

Feels bad man. I'm sure it can probably be repaired but that's beyond my abilities (of which I have none). Too bad Gamestop doesn't offer console repair services. Plus, if I wanted to use it, I'd have to have the batteries replaced in my Pokemon carts too.

I'm loving this chink handheld (V90). For 30 USD, it's amazing what it can do. If you set it up correctly, you can play most of the PS1 library; hell, I bet that if you're willing to tolerate some compromises you could run the entire thing. Currently playing Silent Hill and Crash Team Racing.

Miyoo and yes, Yoshi's Island doesn't work right off the bat. You need to experiment a lot with the settings and with different emulators. Admittedly it's a bit of a headache sometimes, but the results can be surprising. Now I can play that game with little to no issues.

I personally play through a different SNES emulator, which proved to be miles better. I've downloaded specific forks and BIOS files. The configuration files themselves are created with the game I want to play in mind, so there's also that. But generally, yes; if you want to avoid the headache you can easily play the GBA version of the game, since the emulation for that is almost perfect and you don't have to mess around too much with the device.

or this one?

If you're still having problems, you may need to configure the emulator (just try different settings for that game), give a shot to a different emulator, redownload the rom from another website or worse, reflash the SD/CFW. Sometimes the fix is easier than you think though, for example many GBA games outright crashed on my unit, but then I simply copy-pasted the BIOS and ELF files into the Roms folder as well as the Emu folder and, for some reason, it worked.

If you still can't solve it, I'm sorry to say it but you will have to create a Discord account and join the Retro Handheld server (let me know if you want the link). Believe it or not, those trannies helped me quite a few times.
