I don't even love beat em ups but that game is solid.

Beyond and Legend of Oasis are more adventure but they are heavy on combat.

Also, Monster Hunter. The original is well worth at least trying if only to experience the control scheme. It takes getting used to, but ends up being amazingly immserful in a way few games are.

Rygar was peak Mediterranean weeb comfy, there's not a lot of those.
You get a lot of European/Medieval weeb games, but not a lot of Mediterranean weeb games.

Sure its ''possible'' if you're a masochist but it's going to be very frustrating and imbalanced thats why the arcade cabs had 4 player sticks and people would play these games in groups or at least 2 at a time, don't remember seeing 1 person ever beat the game solo

Gotta give D&D Mystata a 10/10 desu. Great distinct characters, great D&D vibes, and by arcade beat em up standards it has incredibly dense combat and we'll added light RPG features. Also massive and I have yet to see all the branching paths. Far more replay value than any other arcade bmup outside the IGS knights series.

The problem with it vs Guardian Heroes is that GH IA about an hour and a half long so your characters level up super quickly. Whereas Code of Princess everything is much slower, the main campaign is more like 30 hours. So everyone starts off feeling very slow and weak. But once you're a little ways in it starts feeling more like Guardian Heroes in how everything flows.

I stil wouldn't say it's quite as good, but still a lot of fun. And like in GH you can unlock everything in the game as playable characters, all the way from the villagers who can barely do anything to the end boss, but not just in arena mode. You can play through all the campaign and bonus quests with them too.

This game is almost great and I love some of the areas. The underwater section is really neat and feels properly underwater. The bug nest section and lava field truck driving sections are pure shit, though and if removed would make the game go from a 7 to a 9.

How is the Saturn port of the Capcom d&d games? Think it might be the only way to play them on my consumer CRT
