The taito mini stick is alright. The stick and buttons are of medium quality I'd say, buttons are very clicky but feel nice. It doesn't feel sturdy though, the whole thing is pretty small and very light, so much so that I usually tape it down to play comfortably. If you already have a way to play 4-way games, it's probably not worth it. It does have a nice design though, and if you want something very compact and relatively high-quality, it could be up your alley.

Either PS2 for playing PS2 and PS1 games, or PS3 for using as a media player.
PS3 would be subpar for gaming here since its PS1 game output is 480i only, its PS2 emulation is bad, and most PS3 games don't look good at 480i. It's good for playing videos.
PSone is redundant unless you want to play one of the handful of games that has issues on PS2.
PSP's video-out is novel for playing PS1 games but it's nearly the worst controller you could use for them, and POPS has some limitations like forcing dithering in some situations it wouldn't normally be used to save performance. Outputting PSP games with it is worthless.
