Holy fuck when in the hell did prices for this system start shooting up? I haven't bought a games since 2006, Zelda TP. I kind of want to round out my collection pictured a little bit and get some games I always wanted, like F-Zero, Super Monkey Ball 2 etc. But holy hell they are more expensive than they were new, sometimes double! What are some must-haves that I should pick up before they shoot up anymore?

Just hack a Wii my man

anyway my favorites are probably
Rogue Leader
Pikmin 1 and 2
Paper Mario TTYD
Harvest Moon Wonderful Life
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour

my 100% honest best advice is to use a small portion of the money you'd otherwise lose on collecting to fuck an escort a few times so you can finally lose your virginity and not worry about it anymore, then build a cool PC and emulate all the games. you may not want to accept it, but this is what you actually need to do.

Naw. Not interested in that. I like the real thing. I don't want to get more than a handful of games anyway. System really sucks and made me quit Nintendo.

The thing with the Wii is that the component cabled are dirt cheap so it displays your games in a much higher quality unless you want to spend an ass ton of the GameCube components.

Blame the Coof for the first hike, then those fags in WATA for the second, shittier hike.
Viewtiful Joe, either Pikmins, and Paper Mario are good choices. But seriously getting a Wii and hacking it, or using an emulator and pirating the ROMs is going to do way less damage to your wallet. Unless you really like the plastic on your shelf, which to be fair does look pretty good.

I was smart and ordered my component cable off of Nintendo's website the day it was available for $30. Wish I bought a dozen if I knew they would be so expensive now. Better than investing in my 401k.

Thanks, anon. A lot of those scores are wildly inflated, but a good start.

While they did start to sky rocket after the coof and WATA, Gamecube has steadily just been getting more expensive since like 2015ish.

The first major evidence of this to me was when like every major Gamecube game went over $40 used around 2016-2017.

Based OP, your collection is really good as it is.

I started collecting for Gamecube this year after it sitting in the closet of my parents house since 2007.

Some stuff I really enjoy that you don’t have includes:

- Rogue Squadron 2
- Timesplitters 2
- Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (I think this one has a really jacked up price though)
- Wind Waker (trust me I was also skeptical of “cellda” but it’s actually pretty good)
- Smash Bros Melee
- Mega Man X Collection
- Sonic Mega Collection and Gems collection
- Midway Arcade Treasures 3

F Zero GX looks amazing but I haven’t tried it yet.

You could also round out the Zelda and Resident Evil you already have by getting RE 2, 3, CV and Zelda Four Swords and Wind Waker, but it’ll cost you an arm and a leg to do so!

What kind of question is this? If you're a collector, collect games that you like. If there's a game you've never tried before these days there a bazillion channels to try it out for free before you buy. "Collecting" games that you consider to be part of some kind of universal canon or "must-have" or hell even asking the question "what do I collect" is just plain hoarding.

You already have a very solid library.
Look into the SD2SP2, OP. You can buy a thing for like ten bucks that plugs into serial port 2 and can play .isos off of a microSD card. You don't need to mod the console at all; it just uses a save game exploit. It supports multiple games but I use mine with Melee.
If you don't have a softmodded Wii around that you can use to throw the save game exploit onto a GameCube memory card, you can probably find 3rd party ones that are preloaded on eBay or Amazon. Search for "SWISS memory card" or something to that effect.
You can play the entire library for like $40 tops this way. You don't need to collect any more games, dude.

If you can emulate GameCube at all, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, both Monkey Ball games, and both Pokemon games are very low end and also pretty solid games. If you can't emulate, at least get Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, and Super Monkey Ball 2. F-Zero GX is also great. If you care about Sonic games at all, I usually recommend Gems Collection, but you might like Heroes and Billy Hatcher too. Get Shadow the Hedgehog if you really like SA2's story.

When an eurofag sees the pic and says "You have them upside down". I never knew what to do with the US imports of sequels that did not got to Europe, put them next to their previous games, or grouped together on the side of the collection.

If the prices were acceptable, I would get:

- Baten Kaitos (I had to import Origins from the US)
- Geist: Ok, not Metroid prime, but the possesion mechanic and the puzzles were you act like a poltergeist are pretty fun
- Luigi's Mansion (if any europoor is reading this, go for the US version, I'm not completely sure, but I believe this one lacked a 60hz mode)

Do you still use the original discs and Gamecube? I haven't used mine in like forever, I usually play them on the modded Wii from a USB hard drive. Toward the ends of the system's life I got an import player boot disc and US versions of a few games that I wanted to replay in 480p (I got lucky finding the component cable for cheap)

Wii is the real thing. A Wii is a GameCube with higher clock speeds.
You can probably go on Craigslist right now and find a Wii for next to nothing. Letterbomb it, stick in a thumb drive and just play the stupid games you want to play. It’s so worthless to pay premium prices for something that’s just going to collect dust after you’re done with your nostalgia trip.

Look the problem isn’t the collectors it’s the speculative investors and the influencers who push for this bullshit. At the end collectors and game enjoyers suffer for it. There is no reason why GameCube titles should go for as much as they do. $300-400 a game lmfao. We are clearly in a bubble and the price is gonna plummet changing the perception of GameCube as shit that nobody wants. These faggots better stay the fuck away from Wii U but I’m afraid it might be the next target of these people who only buy shit that they think other people want to buy
