Probably not quite that obscure, but underrated and underplayed for sure.

Two player co-op, and no slowdown on the SNES with a shoot 'em up. It was a little generic, a product of slightly before it's time, but it embraced that. Each player controlled a different vehicle type where one was in the air the other on the ground, therefore even though the game was 2D, there was 3D gameplay since certain objects and enemies were able to be dodged by both.

The only thing on the SNES I play 2 player with my bros more than this is Tetris Attack. Fighting games? Fuck no. Mario Kart? Hah. No this is going on.

I always prefer "Games no one else seems to remember" since obviously other people played any game you're going to mention that got a public release.. For me it's the M.U.D.s Modus Operandi and Dragon Realms. I spent a lot of time playing those two on Prodigy Classic.

I remember playing this when I was like 6 yo,the nocturnal apocalyptic atmosphere and the music... god the music in this game is fucking amazing,it freaked me out but i loved playing it alone in my room with the lights off LMAO (I think i will replay it tonight)

Never met another person who played this game. It was my favorite game for a long time, I used to play it over and over. I replayed it recently and had a blast.

Anyone else play this? Seemed weird and kinda interesting but I was too young and retarded to actually understand it at the time. Might give it a try now and see how it is.

It was actually the first KQ game I'd ever played so I had no context for the earlier agames in the series. Another one where I was probably too young and impatient to get through it but now I have some weird nostalgia for it, even if it's not great.

I found it on some freeware site and really got into it a bit. Was the first time I remember hearing about a game being "lovecraft inspired"

Yes, played KQ8. Everyone got their panties knotted up into a bunch over it because it tried to be more of an action-oriented adventure rather than a point-and-click style adventure. I think that if they had just branched it off but still used the KQ label, it would've done much better.

Dataware's games Winged Warrior and Modern Warfare, basically PC versions of DQ and Famicom Wars but without the animu. Pretty fun for the time, little reason to play them now.

The company's still selling the games 25 years later; I don't even know if they're 32-bit

Oh boy I remember this one, I played Windows port that I found on some shovelware collection CD. Second game have you travel to Mars or something and fight egg aliens and militaristic geese with some sci-fi weapons, third game was something weird as well.

Boy was this game a mess. It's like if Redneck Rampage raped Hard Truck and the resulting baby was delivered by the Big Rigs devs in a trailer home and then they dropped it on the floor head-first after cutting the umbilical cord with the broken bottle splattered with HIV blood all while Vince Desi from RWS was looking at the whole situation from heaven while screaming in horror.

Absolutely loved it and still playing it from time to time. Getting the ball rolling is genuinely challenging, but once you do that, the game is super-fun. Highlights include shit like buying some resource at a bargain price, move to other town, then another, then another, still looking for really good price, once you eventually roll to the town you've bought the merchandise in the first place, only to find it being in super-deficit and with high demand with the shit you've bought a month earlier.
Highly recommended game.
